About the speakers:
Katherine Hardwick, Director of Marketing, Downtown Vision, Inc.
With more than 10 years of experience as a marketing and communications professional, Katherine’s passions are downtown revitalization and the cultivation of civic pride. Katherine serves as marketing director for Downtown Vision, Inc., Downtown Jacksonville’s Business Improvement District. A not-for-profit, Downtown Vision’s mission is to create and support Downtown and to promote Downtown as a great place to live, work, visit and invest. Katherine oversees a department of passionate marketing and communications professionals, and together, they execute three of Downtown Vision’s four strategic pillars: marketing and communications, experience creation and information management. Her work serves to reinforce Downtown as Jacksonville’s unique and authentic epicenter for business, history, culture, education and entertainment.
Katherine received her Bachelor of Science degree in advertising from the University of North Florida and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She is a member of the International Downtown Association and serves on the board of Murray Hill Preservation Association.
Gabrielle Zurita, Senior Director, Marketing, JAXUSA Partnership
With more than eight years of experience marketing the Jacksonville region to corporate decision-makers and site consultants, Gabrielle has had the opportunity to work with companies including Deutsche Bank, IKEA, GE Oil & Gas, Saft and Embraer. She serves as the Senior Director of Marketing for JAXUSA Partnership, the economic development arm of the JAX Chamber. JAXUSA’s mission is to be a catalyst for economic growth and maximize the region’s unique resources to aggressively recruit jobs and capital investment. Gabrielle works with a team of talented individuals who work to ensure the region remains competitive in the evolving global marketplace.
Gabrielle received her Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and public relations from Baylor University. She is a member of the International Economic Development Council and Florida Economic Development Council. This year, she was named to Jacksonville Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list.
Katie Cox, Vice President of Marketing, JAXSPORTS
Katie Cox is currently the Vice President of Marketing for the Jacksonville Sports Council and has been with the organization for 10 years. In this role, she oversees branding for all JAXSPORTS Council brands including the sports council, TaxSlayer Bowl and JAXSPORTS Charities; manages advertising and promotional campaigns for brands and events; oversees social and digital media and manages JAXSPORTS Charities.
Katie started her career in sports as an intern with the City of Jacksonville’s Office of Special Events where she worked on Super Bowl XXXIX and then spent the next football season with the Denver Broncos working in stadium operations. She holds an MBA in Sport Business from Saint Leo University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Flagler College in nearby St. Augustine where she often visits as a guest speaker to current sport management students. In her free time, Katie is constantly giving back to the Jacksonville community by volunteering with other organizations such as the Tim Tebow Foundation, Dreams Come True, 26.2 Run with Donna Breast Cancer Marathon, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Northeast Florida, and the St. Leo University Sport Business Advisory Council.
Sarah Gibson, Interactive Marketing Manager, Visit Jacksonville
Sarah Gibson, is the Marketing Manager at Visit Jacksonville. A native to the Bold City of the South, Sarah began her career at Visit Jacksonville as an intern while completing her Bachelors of Science in Recreation, Parks and Tourism with a specialization in Event Management from the University of Florida. Eight years later, Sarah is responsible for managing Visit Jacksonville’s five websites, social media accounts, website advertising, promotions and various marketing initiatives alongside the Vice President of Marketing and Communications. Sarah is a soon-to-be bride, a foodie, a lover of local craft beer and her two pups Sally and Rufus!
